Life on Mars - Preparation for foundation production
For this exercise Daisy Hill and I took a clip from 'Life on Mars' and we recreated all the shots. We had to look at all the shot and look closely at how long each of them was filmed for and then film them for the same amount of time. We filmed a variety of shots such as a tracking shot, establishing shot, close ups, high angle shot. We used a programme called 'Final cut express' to edit all the clips, we cut all the clips and we added transactions such as cross dissolve so the video would run smoothly and so the clips wouldn't have a harsh cut in between each of them.
The programs we used were Final cut express and iMovie to upload our work onto the computer.
To do this exercise we used a digital video camera with a memory card, a dolly and tripod. We used a dolly to film a 360 degree shot. We moved around the school to find suitable places to film are shots. Through this exercise I learnt how to use a dolly and how to film different shots, I also learnt how to use Final cut express. Doing this exercise has helped me as I'll known how to use these programs for my coursework.
